 Organization is key! Planners are given to each student. It is intended that they be used on a daily basis. Students will use the planner to write homework, special project dates, as well as any other important notes to self or parents. It is my hope that this will help students stay organized and parents to stay informed. | Reading Has its Advantages! Accelerated Reader (AR) is a reading tool that helps to measure comprehension and reading levels. I will be using various components of AR as an incentive. Students will take a STAR reading assessment to determine a baseline reading level. Goals will be set for each student and they will be better equipped to choose books on their level. Upon completion of each book students will turn in a short summary to me before taking the AR test on the computer. I will have a pizza party (or the like) quarterly for those students that met their goal the previous quarter! Read, Read, Read!
